Surrey Live say that striker Scott Rendell will be sidelined for three months and defender George Fowler around two months after both sustained knee injuries, Aldershot Town manager Gary Waddock confirmed.

Shots vice-captain Rendell, 32, was forced off at half-time in last weekend’s 4-0 defeat at Salford City and the news is not positive.

“It’s three months,” the manager said. “We were concerned that he might have done his ACL (anterior cruciate ligament] but actually he’s done his PCL [posterior cruciate ligament].

“It’s a ligament in the knee still and the time scale is about three months still.”

Meanwhile, former Ipswich Town centre-back Fowler also sat out this weekend’s 2-0 defeat at home to Barrow with a knee injury but it’s hoped the 20-year-old’s problem isn’t quite so serious.
