Former Crystal Palace winger Jacob Berkeley-Agyepong is confident he made the right decision in joining Aldershot Town but that isn’t to say he doesn’t have ambition of one day returning to the Premier League, report Surrey Live.

Having been invited to join the Palace first team on a pre-season tour of America as a teenager, the tricky winger was tipped to have a bright future at Selhurst Park. But aged 21, Berkeley-Agyepong was released by the Eagles at the end of the 2017-18 season without playing a competitive first team game.

And while some players would be apprehensive about dropping from the Premier League to the National League, Berkeley-Agyepong is happy to be a Shot.

“I feel like I’m settling in quite well. The boys and the manager are all good to me,” he said. “From Palace to Aldershot it is a big drop but at the same time it’s a good drop because I feel like that is what I needed.

“It was the right decision for me at the right time, coming here to play first team football rather than the U23s set up I was involved in at Crystal Palace. It feels the right time and this a good platform to be seen.”
