Alfreton Town manager Nicky Law dismissed his side’s somewhat off colour display in a 2-1 Derbyshire Senior Cup semi-final win at Gresley FC on Tuesday night.

Law’s side have shown their resilience several times over the past few weeks and did so again at Gresley, coming from behind to win after conceding a 19th minute goal.

The victory extended the Reds’ unbeaten run to eleven games in all competitions. It is a run which has totally turned the club’s season around but Law admits that you can’t be good all the time.

“It was hard work. It was a horrendous game on a horrendous pitch, in fact the pitch was possibly the worst I’ve ever seen, but at the end of the day, it is job done, we achieved what we went there to do.

“We are in the final, but we won’t dwell on it too much, we need to move on and focus on this Saturday’s important home league game” ended Law.
