Winger Adam Smith has joined National League North club Alfreton Town from National League side Guiseley AFC.

Smith’s loan deal at Guiseley from league rivals Wrexham was made permanent in January 2016.

Smith signed for Wrexham in the summer of 2015 after leaving FC Halifax Town, for whom he made eighty appearances, but after failing to nail down a regular place in the Dragons squad, opted for a loan move to the Lions.

The 31-year-old made only two starts for Wrexham and came off the bench ten times; scoring once in that time, a spectacular lob in the 3-1 win at Kidderminster Harriers in August.

Formerly with Lincoln City, Mansfield Town and York City, Smith agreed a new deal at Nethermoor Park in June
