Alfreton Town have confirmed the loan signing of defender Adam Curry from Championship Hull City until January 1st and winger Danny O’Brien until the end of the season.
Curry, 21, joined Hull City from South Shields in November 2015 and after recovering from a long term injury, has been a regular feature in City’s Under 23s set up. He signed a new one-year deal with the Tigers in May 2018.
He has also had spells at both Boston United and Spennymoor Town in the 2017/18 season.
O’Brien, 22, joins after starting his career at Aston Villa, before joining Wigan Athletic where he regularly featured for their development side. Loan spells at Wrexham and Chester followed in 2015 before making his senior debut for Wigan in August 2016 in a 2-1 loss in the EFL Cup to Oldham Athletic.
A return to Chester for a second loan spell came in January 2017 before he would move abroad to Finland after being recalled and released by Wigan.
Manager Billy Heath said: “Adam and Danny joining us are big additions into the squad. Adam has been training with Hull City’s first team ever since pre season and has featured for them in the Cup this season.
“He can play at left-back and centre-back and is still a young lad at 21. He has National League North experience too after a few spells in this league. We have some defensive injuries at the moment so its important to cover that and in turn cover that with quality. We are pleased to have Adam with us.
“Danny has featured for Wigan as well as Chester and Wrexham. He moved abroad to gain minutes and this has been in Finland where Danny has played in the Finnish Premier Division, he is a skilful player also with experience and quality and it’s a solid signing for us.”
