Alfreton Town have signed midfielder David Lynch from Southport for an undisclosed fee.

Lynch started his career at Burnley and has featured at Clitheroe FC, Altrincham and FC Halifax Town. He would then move to Southport in November 2017 for an undisclosed fee, where the Port captain made 34 appearances in the league.

Lynch has made nine starts so far this season for Southport.

Alfreton boss Billy Heath said: “David is a brilliant central midfield player, he’s a great competitor all over the pitch and he works really hard.”

“He is very experienced, he’s been promoted from this league before and it will add more experience to us, it’s another strong addition to the squad and another quality signing. We are delighted to have him here.”
