Forward Richie Allen becomes the fifth Salford City player to commit to the club’s first full-time season.
Allen joined Salford from AFC Fylde in September 2015 and soon became a cult hero among the club’s supporters.
He was soon finding the back of the net, scoring an extra time winner that took the Ammies into the FA Cup’s fourth qualifying round.
Southport were duly beaten to set up that never to be forgotten televised first round game when League Two side Notts County were beaten 2-0 at a packed Moor Lane, with Allen netting the second in spectacular fashion.
He has gone on to make more than 70 appearances, netting 22 times and his silky skills and eye for memorable strikes will be a valuable addition to the club’s first full-time professional squad.
