Chesterfield have parted company with manager Martin Allen following Boxing Day’s 4-0 defeat at home to Solihull Moors, which saw the Spireites drop into the relegation zone following just 4 wins from 25 games.

Assistant-manager Adrian Whitbread and head of recruitment and goalkeeper coach Carl Muggleton have also left the club.

The club`s CEO Graham Bean told https://www.chesterfield-fc.co.uk: “On behalf of the club, I would like to thank Martin and his staff for their hard work and wish them all the very best for the future. The search for a new manager is now underway.”

Academy manager John Pemberton will take charge of the team for Saturday’s game at home to Hartlepool United.
