Martin Allen hopes to have a conversation with the Proact decision makers about the possibility of signing Liam McAlinden, report The Derbyshire Times.
The forward has been training with Town and played in both Saturday and Tuesday’s friendly games at Boston and Gainsborough.
He headed home Chesterfield’s third goal against Trinity and Allen likes the 24-year-old.
“He’s an experienced centre forward, he’s a good lad. He’s looking for a club and he’s coming with us on our two-day bonding trip.
“I’ve got to go to my bosses and see what we can do.”
