Altrincham’s players have donated £100 to the club’s Future Robins scheme, which plans to distribute free tickets among local schools.

The National League side have said: “Barely 24 hours after it was announced, the initial target of generating 1,000 kids’ tickets had been surpassed.

“Phil Parkinson’s squad took time out from preparing for Saturday’s game against Boreham Wood to dig deep and give the campaign to create a new generation of young Alty fans a further boost.

“Recognising the initiative as an effective means of growing the club’s fan base and, in the process, enhancing the prospects for continued success, the players raised £100 between them and bought one of the corporate packages on offer, effectively adding another 75 tickets to the overall tally.”
