Altrincham have signed experienced midfielder Elliott Durrell, following his departure from York City last week.

The 30-year-old, who helped Macclesfield Town to promotion back to the EFL two seasons ago, has represented the likes of Hednesford Town, Tamworth, Wrexham and Chester in the past.

Alty manager Phil Parkinson told the club’s website: “Elliott is a player that I have always liked, a player who excites me and someone that I think will get fans on the edge of their seats. He can produce magic moments and has a wealth of experience in big games.

“This will be invaluable to us going into the back-end of the season.”

Durrell will be available for tonight’s trip to Spennymoor, subject to registration confirmation being received from the National League and The FA.
