Phil Parkinson has increased his Altrincham attacking options by snapping up highly-rated striker Lewis Archer from Alvechurch on non-contract forms.

The Altrincham boss has been tracking 21-year old frontrunner Archer for several months and was delighted to reinforce the Robins’ frontline with a player who attracted the interest of Championship side West Brom last season.

Providing an insight into what Alty fans can expect from the club’s latest acquisition, assistant manager Neil Sorvel said: “Lewis is someone we have had our eye on, and he nearly came to us towards the back end of last season.

“He is a different type of player to what we’ve already got, and hopefully he can give us a different dimension. He is physical and strong, and he is also direct and pacey, so let’s see how he goes.

“He can play across the front in any of those three positions, and he has the ability to stretch defenders, so that will add to our options.”
