Salford City have announced their second loan signing of the week in midfielder Nick Haughton from League One side Fleetwood Town.

Haughton had a first season to remember in Fleetwood`s first-team, as he picked up the Cod Army’s young player of the year award.




Haughton initially signed for Town in February 2014 following a successful one week trial at the club.

The youngster began his playing career with Hallmark Security League Premier Division side Runcorn Town, with his form attracting interest from Fleetwood.

Once confirmed as a Fleetwood player, the Mancunian was immediately loaned out to Evo-Stik Northern Premier League Premier Division outfit Nantwich Town.

Following his return from Cheshire, Haughton returned to the Fylde coast to link up with Barry Nicholson’s development squad.

His form for Nicholson’s side earned him his first-team debut in the 1-0 win over Port Vale in October – coming on as a second half substitute.

Haughton made twenty-two appearances for Town in his debut campaign, netting the once in the famous win at Sheffield United in March.

He moves to Moor Lane until January 8th 2017 and follows the Ammies earlier loan recruit, Patrick Brough from Carlisle United.
