Kidderminster Harriers’ Jimmy O’Connor is delighted to be back at it in pre-season – admitting there’s already plenty of competition within the squad.
The boys are deep into their first week of pre-season training as Neil MacFarlane’s men gear up for the National League North campaign.
The 33-year-old has been in the thick of it and admitted to the official website that even with his experience, the nerves you get early in pre-season remain ever-present!
He explained: “It’s good to see and to get among the lads and the new faces – and some of the old ones as well!
“It has that whole first day at school sort of feeling and you never get tired of it, which is a good thing.
“There’s a bit of excitement and a bit of nerves but that’s healthy to have at this stage.”
Far from being just about nerves, fun and excitement, there’s also a serious edge to the team’s work even at this early stage.
“That competitive edge comes out as well a little bit,” O’Connor added.
