Stourbridge have said their congratulations to midfielder Drew Canavan, who made his 400th appearance for the club in Monday’s win over Ashton United.

Drew joined Stourbridge in the summer of 2008 as we made our first steps back in the Southern League Premier Division after promotion via the play-offs at the end of 2007/08.

And Drew is approaching another milestone for the Glassboys as his five goals this season put him on a career total of 48.

Glassboys fans have become used to Drew’s trademark free kicks, four already this season, including the winner at Mickleover Sports late in our Emirates FA Cup Second Qualifying Round tie, and a potentially vital stoppage time equaliser at home to Spennymoor Town just before Christmas.

Although Leon Boadhurst first joined Stourbridge before Drew, in 2003, and has made more appearances for the Club, Leon’s brief spell at Leamington in 2009 makes Drew our longest-serving player.
