Notts County manager Neal Ardley is hoping for ‘the start of something good’ for the Magpies following Alexander and Christoffer Reedtz’s takeover of the club.

The boss enjoyed a short meeting with the new owners before heading to Alfreton last night, where he saw his side narrowly beaten in a pre-season friendly.

And Ardley was encouraged by what he heard in his first discussions with his new bosses.

“Obviously, it’s a huge relief,” he said. “Hopefully this is going to be the start of something good.

“The new owners want to put a model in place that grows success over a longer period of time and they’re really enthusiastic.

“The fact that, in the coming days, we’ll be in a position to start strengthening the squad will be fantastic as well so, all in all, it’s really positive.”
