Notts County manager Neal Ardley was left to rue a set-piece lapse by his side against Boreham Wood last night in what he felt had been an even encounter.

Notts were beaten 1-0 at home to the Wood, with Jamal Fyfield scoring the winner for the visitors with around 20 minutes to go.

Ardley told BBC Radio Nottingham:

“It’s a game where sort of worst case it’s a draw, you go ‘okay, both teams had a go,’ but we’ve let ourselves down to a set-piece.

“As a manager, as I always say, that’s the most frustrating thing. You need players to do their jobs in the box and them margins have cost us tonight.”

The Magpies are 3rd in the National League after the result, while Boreham Wood move up to 15th.
