The manager of the British Army side is the new first team coach at Evo-Stik Northern Premier League Leek Town.
Simon Bell, a reservist after serving for 25 years, stood down as assistant manager at Leek’s Staffordshire County Senior League Premier Division neighbours Ball Haye Green to strengthen the back-room staff of Blues boss Anthony Danylyk.
The Leek native was alongside Danylyk and assistant boss Paul Donnelly for the first time on Saturday for the club’s 3-0 win at Chasetown in Evo-Stik NPL First Division South.
Leek Town chairman Jon Eeles said: “The club is pleased to announce that Simon is joining the management team – he is organised, highly rated and will be an excellent addition. I am sure everyone will join me in wishing Simon all the best of luck in his new role – what is Ball Haye Green’s loss is our gain.”
