Koby Arthur admits that his main aim as a Macclesfield Town player is to help get the club back into the Football League after joining the club ahead of the 2017-18 season.

Arthur’s move to the Silkmen was confirmed yesterday after impressing the club’s management team during a trial spell at Moss Rose.

The 21-year-old joins the club after leaving Birmingham City at the end of the 2016-17 season, a campaign that also saw him spend time on loan with League Two side, Cheltenham Town.

Speaking to Silkmen TV shortly after the confirmation of his signing, Arthur revealed that he likes the look of his new club.

“Obviously I’ve already played for the club in pre-season and I think they are going to suit my style,” he said.

“They’ve got really good facilities here, both the training ground and the stadium has a good pitch to play on. At this level, normally, it’s hard to praise the standard of pitches but we’ve got one that is good for playing football on.

“My main aim, while I’m here, is to get back into the Football League – I would like us to do it at the end of this season if possible.

“We’ve just got to do what we have to do in every game and the rest I’m sure will look after itself.”
