Ashington FC’s interim manager Ian Skinner has boosted his wafer-thin squad by signing four players – Brandon Morrison, Sanny Lingthep, Harry Stansfield and Tom Lycett – from Darlington FC.
Skinner said of each player:
Brandon Morrison: “A centre forward who is a traditional target man. He’s a big strong boy, probably 6’ 2” tall who has a good physique on him, a good touch from what we saw in training. He holds the ball up and links the play well.”
Sanny Lingthep: “Has bags of pace. He has got a trick in him and loves to run with the ball and dribble and we might need to develop him as to when and where to dribble.”
Harry Stansfield: “Looks like a composed midfielder. Darlington manager Tommy Wright likened him to Manchester United’s Michael Carrick as he has a similar sort of stamp. Harry likes to get on the ball; find good areas and keeps it nice and simple.”
Tom Lycett: “Is a big centre back. Originally from Southampton and has been on trial at Leicester City as well.”
