Ashton United have named Atherton Collieries boss Micheal Clegg as their new manager.
Following the departure of Jody Banim, the Robins have gone for a manager who has been a resounding success at nearby Colls. His sides have delivered a trio of promotions in five years, as the club has risen from North West Counties Division One to the Northern Premier League.
Ashton United’s joint-chairmen David and Jonathan Burke said: “Despite broad interest in our vacancy from a number of outstanding individuals, Micheal fits the ethos and ambition of our club perfectly. We look forward to him taking the reins and introducing new impetus to the club as we look to quickly climb the league.”
