Macclesfield Town manager John Askey has offered an update on the injury situation as he appeared to lose two players in the 0-0 draw with Solihull at the weekend.

Macclesfield captain Jared Hodgkiss was struggling with a hamstring issue prior to the game, having been forced off in recent weeks. Keiran Kennedy, who was substituted after taking a nasty bump to the head, forcing Hodgkiss on from the bench.

It appeared to be too soon for the full-back however, who was subbed off again early in the second half for Noe Baba.

Speaking after the game, Askey suggested the glass may be half full regarding the fitness of his players: “Keiran will be fine I think, just a slight concussion it seems. The worrying one will be Jared – we’ll have to see how he is with time.”
