Macclesfield Town manager John Askey has stated his expectation to see the squad bounce back from defeat to Dagenham and Redbridge at the Moss Rose this weekend.

The loss comes after successive away victories for the Silkmen, and has somewhat stunted the form Macclesfield will be looking for if they are to make a late push for the play-offs.

After issuing a rallying cry for fans to get behind the boys, Askey says all focus will now be on the upcoming game with Maidstone as the team look to get back to winning ways over the Easter period.

Speaking after the defeat to Dagenham, he said: “We’re looking to bounce back, absolutely. We’ll see what happens now. If we beat Maidstone then you never know what could happen.

“We’ve got to keep going and get as many wins as possible before the end of the season. They’ve had a great run of late and it will be a tough game because they will be full of confidence. Hopefully we can get a win which is badly needed at home.”
