Atherton Collieries’ former captain Brad Cooke has been appointed manager at the club.

Cooke, who played 265 times for Colls, scoring 40 goals, arrives from West Didsbury & Chorlton. He takes over at his old stomping ground after Micheal Clegg left last week for Ashton United.

Cooke will be assisted by another ex-Colls man, Rob Sadler. The two had taken charge at West back in June.

In four seasons with the club, Cooke won the NWCFL Division 1 championship, NWCFL League Challenge Cup, NWCFL Premier Division title and the NPL League Cup
