Aveley have signed midfielder James Goode from Isthmian Premier League side Hornchurch.
Goode started his career under Mark Stimson at Thurrock, playing 113 games and scoring 20 times. With his time at Thurrock, he proved himself to be a utility player, suited to playing in midfield and in defence.
After Thurrock folded, Stimson and a large part of the Thurrock squad moved with him to Waltham Abbey, as did Goode. After the opening at Hornchurch due to the departure of Jim McFarlane, Goode followed Stimson to Bridge Avenue in December 2018, helping the Urchins stay up in the Isthmian Premier League.
