Bradford Park Avenue manager Mark Bower has begun re-shaping his squad with the news that six players have been released.
Jon Worsnop, Sanchez Payne, Aidan Chippendale, Liam Dickinson, Emile Sinclair and Chris Sharp have all been made free to find new clubs.
Goalkeeper Worsnop made twenty-eight appearances in all competitions, claiming five clean sheets from twenty-six National League North matches since re-joining the club in October.
Despite some impressive displays in his third spell at the club, the stopper affectionately known as ‘Spider’ by supporters can no longer commit to travelling from his home in Cheshire.
Forward Sharp was the only ever-present for Avenue in league matches last season as he made twenty-five starts and seventeen substitute appearances, netting 5 goals.
The hard-working attacker has only missed one game across all competitions, sitting out the county cup victory away at Harrogate Town in January.
His 5 goals put him as the joint second-highest scorer this season.
Joining him on the way out of the Horsfall Stadium are fellow forwards Emile Sinclair and Liam Dickinson.
Sinclair scored 4 goals in thirty-three appearances across all competitions last season, while Dickinson grabbed 3 goals in fourteen appearances, spending time on loan at Stalybridge Celtic midway through the campaign.
Chippendale also moves on after just half a season with the club, the Bradford-born winger joining from Stalybridge in January.
The left-footer, who played sixteen times in all competitions for Avenue, will probably be most remembered for his astonishing miss in the recent home draw with FC United of Manchester, a video of which went somewhat viral online.
Central midfielder Sanchez Payne is the final man released by the club having scored once in twelve appearances across all competitions.
He also spent time out on loan, playing a handful of games for Goole AFC midway through the campaign.
Discussions are currently ongoing with the remaining players from last season’s squad, and more announcements will be made in the coming weeks.
