The Bradford Park Avenue Supporters’ Club have donated their collections for Wyke Foodbank and the Baildon/Shipley Flood Relief fund.
Collections were held during January and early February home matches, and the generous donations from Avenue supporters have been gratefully accepted.
Pictured is Bob Dunne of Wyke Foodbank presenting a letter of acceptance to Supporters’ Club committee member Chris Holroyd after Avenue’s match with Stockport County in February.
Wyke Foodbank supports people in the BD6, BD12 and BD19 districts of Bradford and was formed by volunteers from a number of churches in those areas.
Areas of Baildon and Shipley were hit by devastating floods over Christmas leaving homes and businesses completely destroyed beyond repair.
Terry Slocombe of the Rotary Club Shipley was invited to our home game with Boston United, where he was presented with a cheque for £100 raised by the Bradford Park Avenue supporters. Boston manager Dennis Greene kindly presented the cheque on behalf of the Supporters’ Club.
The club and Supporters’ Club have chosen to support Wyke Foodbank and the Flood Relief Fund as local charity initiatives as the club converts into a Community Benefits Society.
