Banbury United’s board will not hurry the appointment of a new chairman following Ronnie Johnson’s resignation.
Work commitments have forced Johnson to reluctantly step down at the Evo-Stik League South Premier club after almost two years at the helm.
He said: “I leave with the satisfaction of a job well done in resurrecting this famous club.
“I have found myself getting stressed over issues I cannot control in recent weeks and I knew it was time to call it a day.”
The Puritans board have now released a statement to clarify what happens next.
