Charles Banya has left Vanarama National League newcomers Maidstone United in search of a club closer to home.
Getting to and from south east London by public transport for matches and evening training sessions prompted the decision for the 22-year-old, who joined the Stones last November.
Banya made eighteen appearances during his time with the club. He was forced to miss a month after suffering concussion in the home game against Basingstoke Town in March.
Stones boss Jay Saunders said: “Charles was car sharing last season and without that option it was going to be costly and time consuming for him to get down to Maidstone three or four times a week.
“I am sure it won’t be long before he’s signed up by a club nearer his home and we wish him every success for the future”.
