Following Barnet’s relegation back to the Vanarama National League, manager Martin Allen has left the club.

It was Allen’s fifth spell in charge of the Bees, having started his managerial career with the club in 2003, but he was unable to help keep them in League Two after arriving in March. The 52-year-old ex-QPR and West Ham United midfielder started to make his name as a manager when he took Brentford from League One relegation battlers to play-off participants two seasons running, in 2005 and 2006.
Allen has managed as high as the Championship, having led Leicester briefly in 2007. In his fourth spell at the Barnet helm, he guided the Bees to the National League title in 2015, keeping them up the following season.
