There will be a completely new surface at Barnet’s Hive London home when the action finally returns.

The National League club have provided an update to supporters, explaining:

“Work has begun to the stadium pitch at the Hive London. In collaboration with the Head of Playing Surfaces and Estates at Tottenham Hotspur FC, our team of ground staff and theirs have been hard at it getting our pitch ready for the 2020/21 football season.

“We are starting from scratch and doing a complete rebuild of the pitch this year, which will give us a brand new surface for next season.”

The Bees were one of the sides in promotion contention in the National League when the season was halted two months ago.

Darren Currie’s side were four points off the play-off positions, with four games in hand on Stockport County in 7th and at least two games in hand on all of the league’s top ten.
