Barnsley goalkeeper Jack Walton has returned to Stalybridge Celtic on a loan deal until the end of the season.

The goalkeeper, who had already agreed a loan deal with the Northern Premier League side until the end of the campaign, was recalled by José Morais to give cover on the bench against Millwall over the weekend as Adam Davies was unavailable. Walton will now continue his development at Bower Fold for the remainder of the 2017/18 campaign, where he was thrown straight back into the action on Tuesday evening and celebrated a winning return with an important 3-2 victory away at Nantwich Town.

The 19-year-old produced a stunning save towards the end of the match by tipping a goal-bound effort onto the crossbar, before The Celts raced up field from that rebound and won the match with the final kick of the game.
