Barnton have confirmed their management team to lead them into the final months of the season.
Danny Meadowcroft has been confirmed as Interim First Team Manager. The former Northwich Victoria defender joined the club last summer and has been an important part of the Barnton side this season. He steps up from his role as player/coach, and will carry on playing alongside his management of football matters.
Joining Danny in an advisory position is someone who needs no introduction to supporters of non-league football, with former Witton Albion player, assistant and manager Brian Pritchard arriving at Townfield.
Pritchard achieved legendary status having spent 19 years in total at the Northwich-based club, who he left in 2014 for personal reasons.
Meadowcroft told us, “I’ve asked Brian to come in and help me. With his non-league experience, he’s a guy I have a lot of respect for and talk with regularly.
“He will be a massive asset on and off the pitch for the club. It’s vital we carry on the good work and finish in the league as strongly as we can”.
Danny also confirmed that current Captain Kev Pollard will keep the armband, and the influential midfielder had nothing but praise for the club’s appointment.
The Skipper said, “It’s been a hectic couple of weeks for the club on and off the field but now the club can concentrate on the football. Me and the lads are delighted with Danny getting the interim position as manager. The lads trust and respect him so it can only be a good thing in my eyes that he is given the job”.
Andy Burgess will continue in his role as Assistant Manager alongside Danny and Brian.
