Barrow AFC have announced the signings of defenders Jordon Thompson and Paul Bignot ahead of tomorrow’s Vanarama National League game with Torquay United.
Thompson joins on a one-month youth loan deal from Coventry City with Bignot joining on non-contract terms.
Bluebirds defender Dave Nieskens picked up a knee injury in the game at Tranmere last weekend and will see a specialist next week to determine the extent of the injury but initial assessments put him out for several weeks.
Fellow defender Thierry Audel picked up a shoulder injury in the draw with Guiseley on Tuesday and also faces a spell on the sidelines.
Thompson was part of the successful Coventry Under-18s side last season, and was named in the Sky Blues’ squad for the first time in the final game of the 2016/17 campaign against Scunthorpe. He has been tipped as a player who could make the breakthrough into their first team squad this season.
Paul Bignot, brother of Marcus, is a highly-experienced defender who has played for the likes of Blackpool, Grimsby and Crewe in the Football League and joins having most recently played at Newport County last season.
Both are available for selection in tomorrow’s fixture against Torquay United. Kick off is 3pm at the Furness Building Society Stadium.
