Ian Evatt is confident his network of contacts will allow him to better exploit the loan market at Barrow AFC.
The Bluebirds boss is expected to have a handful of loanees in his squad during the National League season.
As yet, none have been announced – though several are believed to have been involved during pre-season at one level or another – but that could well change before the campaign kicks off next weekend.
The Bluebirds have benefited from having the likes of Nottingham Forest midfielder Ryan Yates and Burnley centre-half Jimmy Dunne in their ranks in recent season – both having since gone on to play regularly in the Football League – and will be hoping for similar talent this town round. To that end, Evatt is confident his contacts within Premier League academies and beyond will be able to help him land the best possible targets.
“I have quite a good network of people in Premier League Cat 1 academies,” said the AFC boss, who played for a season in the top-flight with Blackpool. “The trouble we have is with the internationals still being away on holiday, the Premier League clubs are using these players to fill their squads for pre-season tours etc.
“They might come about a bit later down the line, but it is certainly something we will be looking at.”
He added: “I’ve built a good network up of people, which will definitely be helpful for the club.”
