The Mail report that Ian Evatt is hopeful of signing another goalkeeper on loan in time for Barrow AFC’s match with Bromley this Saturday, but admits not being able to make guarantees over playing time has complicated matters.
The Bluebirds were dealt a blow when Brad Wade, signed after Andy Firth moved to Rangers, was recalled by Rochdale just four days into a one-month loan.
Joel Dixon’s impressive recent form means whoever comes in is going to have to be patient for an opportunity, although clubs are reluctant to loan out players who will not be playing.
Nevertheless, Barrow boss Evatt is optimistic the team’s good track record of developing loan signings this season will work in their favour.
“We’re trying too, but it’s obviously not easy because the keepers we’re looking to take on loan, teams would like them to play.”
