Caretaker boss Neill Hornby has ruled himself out of the running to be the next permanent Barrow AFC manager.

Hornby has been in charge since Micky Moore was sacked last Tuesday, leading the side in the 3-2 defeat at Ebbsfleet United on Saturday.

He will take charge again at Chester tomorrow night, but confirmed he does not want to take on the job on a full-time basis.

Asked if he had put in an application, or expressed an interest in the post, he said: “No. As a manager, could I do it; is it within my capabilities to do it? Yes. Would I be interested in doing it? No.

“I’ve not been interested in it from day one. My role is purely as an interim manager. When the new manager comes in, we’ll see who he brings in with him. If he brings anyone, will I stay? I don’t know if I will be here myself.”
