Barrow AFC manager Paul Cox has been on the search for a new goalkeeper following the season-ending injury to Joel Dixon and the end of Tim Erlandsson’s loan from Nottingham Forest.

And he has signed highly-rated young keeper Ashley Rawlins from Evo-Stik Northern Premier League First Division South side Market Drayton Town.

The 20-year-old, who represented Shropshire as a youth, has come through the ranks at Drayton and has been a regular in the first-team for the past two seasons.

Rawlins has had trials at Leicester City, Stoke City, Crewe Alexandra, Bury and Nantwich Town before and during his time at Greenfields.
