Barrow AFC have announced that the club’s ground safety certificate has been reinstated.

It had been reported last week that there were issues with a lack of certification for various electrical systems at Barrow’s Holker Street ground, along with safety concerns over weeds on the terraces and boarding around a floodlight pylon. That had seen Cumbria County Council’s safety advisory group impose a zero S-factor safety rating, which apparently reduced the capacity of the Brian Arrowsmith Stand and Wilkie Terrace to zero.

The club then released a statement in response to that, though it has now been confirmed that their ground safety certificate has been reinstated. This means that all parts of the ground will be open for the Bluebirds’ friendly tonight with Carlisle United.
