Barrow AFC boss Ady Pennock says he has already spoken to some potential new signings.
The Bluebirds escaped relegation on a dramatic final Saturday of the National League season. AFC stumbled to a 2-1 home defeated against already-relegated Chester, but Dover’s victory at Woking sent the Surrey club down and everyone at Holker Street breathed a collective sigh of relief
Pennock said after the Chester game that some decisions about the current squad had already been made. And the manager met with chairman Paul Casson, his son and managing director Andrew Casson, and board members yesterday to further discuss squad plans for the 2018/19 season.
Pennock is determined the Bluebirds won’t find themselves battling against relegation again.
“I have already spoken to other players about next season because it is my job to do that whether we were in the National League or the Conference North,” Pennock said. “I have got two lists but now I know where we are next season I can screw up one bit of paper and concentrate on the other.”
