Barrow AFC have announced their first two signings of the summer which evidences their recently-installed nationwide scouting network.
Both are signed from lower leagues where they have massively impressed and in both cases other National League clubs or above were also chasing their signatures.
Richard Bennett, 25, a six-foot plus striker who joins after earning high praise for his performances at Evo-Stik Northern Premier League First Division North play-off finalists Northwich Victoria, where he played alongside Jordan Williams. He has signed a two-year deal.
The other signing announced today is 6’5” central defender Moussa Diarra, 26, who won promotion to the National League South with Hampton & Richmond Borough last season.
Diarra joined the Beavers from Hemel Hempstead Town permanently in July 2015 having spent time on loan at Beveree is 2014/15.
He originally came to the UK from France in 2011, joining St Albans City before signing for the Tudors.
He is described by Barrow boss Paul Cox as “great in both boxes.”
He joins on a one-year contract with the option of a further year,
Meanwhile, Cox expects to wrap up a third capture today with the signature of a striker proven at National League level with an announcement expected by tea-time.
