Barrow have signed defender Connor Brown.

Brown, a right-back, started his youth career at hometown club Sheffield United. He rose through the ranks of their academy before signing a professional contract in the summer of 2011.

Unable to make a break in to the first team, he joined Oldham in 2012. Brown, 25, made 89 appearances for the then League One side, scoring one goal in his four years at the club. Whilst at Oldham he had an eight game loan spell at Carlisle United.

In September 2016 he joined National League side Guiseley and made over 50 appearances at Nethermoor, before joining York City on loan earlier this year. He then joined the Bootham Crescent side after just four loan appearances.

Brown joins Barrow having played from the start in Saturday’s abandoned friendly against a Furness Select XI.
