Blackburn Under-23 captain Lewis Hardcastle has joined Barrow on loan.
The midfielder joined Rovers when he was just six years old and has progressed through the youth ranks at the club to become one of the mainstays of Damien Johnson’s Under-23 squad. A combative and committed central midfielder, the 2015/16 season saw Hardcastle gain valuable experience with a hugely successful loan spell at then Evo-Stik Premier League North side Salford City.
Last season saw the midfielder make 33 appearances for Rovers development squad, including three appearances in their Checkatrade Trophy campaign.
The young midfielder appeared 18 times for the Under-23s side in 2017/18 and spent the first half of this season on loan at Port Vale.
He joins Barrow on an initial one-month youth loan.
