Wright is a product of the successful Ilkeston academy system, having joined the club at aged 15.

Wright amassed some forty games for Ilkeston’s first-team, all before he turned 19.

And his performances didn`t go unnoticed and in March 2015 he completed a whirlwind transfer to Fleetwood.

After impressing for Fleetwood’s development side in the weeks following his arrival, Wright was named as a substitute in the Football League for the first time in April 2015 against MK Dons.

In September 2015, he joined National League North club AFC Fylde on a month’s loan and played in four league fixtures and played a key role as the Coasters won all four of those games, scoring 2 goals in the process.
