Barwell boss Jimmy Ginnelly is looking forward to their first home friendly of the new season against Nuneaton Town FC.

“I’m really looking forward to getting back on the grass with the boys and what a first home friendly! Nuneaton Town FC – it can’t come better than that! We always have a good tussle with the Boro on the pitch and surely with all the signing Tommy’s made it should be a tough one.

I really do hope it’s a humdinger of a game for the fans. I’ll have 6/7 first team lads unavailable due to holidays and work but that’s the norm in these games. It helps me have a look at a few trialists.

My assistant, Guy Hadland, has put the lads through 3/4 sessions already trying to get the lads in shape and the boys have been responding really well so hopefully the lads that play are not rusty.

I want to thank Tommy for bringing the lads over for this yearly friendly and hopefully we can keep Callum Ball out of the goals.
We’re having a few beers, a bit of a barbecue (which will be served from the Barwell kiosk), a bit of music and a mingle with both sets of players and the managers until around 7-30 so please come and ask your questions – hopefully we’ve got quite a few goals to talk about but hopefully not in the back of my Barwell net!”
