Barwell manager Jimmy Ginnelly has praised Tom Bates for his recent contribution from the touchline.
Bates joined Jimmy Ginnelly in the technical area at Stafford Rangers last week, in the absence of Guy Hadland. The 32-year-old midfielder was vocal throughout and had plenty of ideas to contribute.
Speaking after Saturday’s game, Ginnelly said: “It’s experience. In football, the right things have to be said in the dugout area. You need good football brains to be able to ask a question. It could just be a one-second question but the experienced lads understand it, they’re all singing off the same hymn sheet.
“Tom Bates was great the other night at Stafford. He did the warm-up and I bounced a lot of ideas off him.”
