Barwell coach Tom Cherry believes the four-goal victory over Skelmersdale United was a result the side has been waiting for in recent weeks.

The three points take Barwell’s winning run to five in all competitions and moves the Canaries up to thirteenth in the Northern Premier League table.

As one of the lower scorers in the division, the first-team coach was delighted to see another impressive display in front of goal.

“I think it’s a massive result,” says Cherry.

“Some may look at it and see that they had two players sent off, but we were completely dominant before those red cards and restricted them to only one or two chances.

“It’s the sort of result that has been coming to be honest.

“Last week at Corby could have been the same sort of scoreline”.
