Basford United travel to Whitby Town on Saturday seeking a win to maintain their Evo-Stik Premier Division play-off hopes.

They currently lie seven points adrift, but manager Martin Carruthers explains: “We are going all out to win as many games as possible and see where that takes us. There is a lot of football still to be played, and in football, form and results can change very quickly.”

He continued: “Whitby will be tough opponents on Saturday. They are a big strong team who have a habit of making life very difficult for the opposition, especially when playing at home.

“We have to concentrate on our strengths, on playing our game and our type of football and not be knocked out of our stride.”

There are no new injury problems for Basford, who are hopeful that defenders Stef Galinski and Lewis Carr will be fit after missing the last few games through injury.
