Basingstoke Town Community Football Club understand the importance of the community pulling together for those who need a little help this Christmas.

That’s why they are working alongside Basingstoke Foodbank and Besom of Basingstoke to help wrap, pack and deliver Christmas Hampers in and around the town.

The Basingstoke Foodbank and Basingstoke Besom work in partnership every year to help those living below the national poverty so they have much needed food and essentials, not only at Christmas but all year

This year the club are proud to be involved with what they hope will be the start of a long-lasting relationship with these two great charities.

Acting Chairman, Kevin White said:  “It is so important that we all pull together and do what we can in our local community, in the way a true community club should.

“We have had some fantastic support from the people in the town and it is our duty to return that support in as many ways as possible. This is a great way to start giving back to our local Basingstoke community.”

The organiser of the Christmas hampers, Abigail Compton-Burnett said:  “‘When I saw the club was returning to the town, I thought it would be a great chance to get involved with them as they look to grow.

“I discussed that I did some work with the foodbank and Kevin said that the club would be more than happy to help.’

Kevin, together with first team manager Dan Brownlie, Academy manager Aaron Nicholson, women’s team manager  Nathan Cookson and players will be helping at Festival Place throughout December.
