Basingstoke Town have announced the signings of Adam Everiss and Joe Hancott.
‘Evo’ is a quick left-sided player who can play a number of positions and can be utilised as effectively in defence or attack. Having played in an integral role in neighbours Hartley Wintney’s recent rise with back-to-back promotions, he joined Camberley Town at the start of the season, as he could not commit to the travel in this league due to work commitments. Now with a new position, he has joined the Camrose faithful.
Joe Hancott signs on loan from Portsmouth as a left-back. With the departure of Rob Gerrard to Australia, Martin Kuhl has moved quickly to secure the signing.
At the age of 16 years and 161 days, he surpassed Gary O’Neil as Portsmouth’s youngest debutant – by 95 days.
Full-back Hancott, hailing from the Isle of Wight, is another first-year scholar that became part of Portsmouth’s Under-18s in July 2017, having been on the club’s books for eight years.
Very much a modern full back, Hancott likes to get forward on the overlap and has impressed within the academy at every age group for which he has appeared.
